I just saw “Grease - The Musical” today … with my lovely lady friend, Ms X.

But this posting is not about Ms X (maybe I’ll tell you more about her … much to her irritation … if enough people comment).

This posting is about Grease!

Man, it’s been a while since I heard that music. When I was younger, I used to listen to “Freddy My Love” so often (mainly every time I had the blues about a girl). And “Summer Days” was the perfect song for when I’d get a crush on a girl, and start day dreaming.

Sigh … those songs are just perfect anchors for me … and I think they will be for the rest of my life.
And that just made me think back to other random memories of school days.

Listening to Pink Floyd while doing my chemistry records.

Being the joke-source of my class, and often getting reprimanded by the teachers for it.

Those first few crushes, and the weeks of day dreams resulting from them.

Transforming from a shy, quiet chap in 8th grade to a popular charmer from 9th to 12th grades.

An Inter-School musical competition … where we didn’t know we had to perform an instrumental number … and ended up humming “Hotel California”

Not sure what to make of these memories, think it might be futile to just sit back and day dream about them … but there’s something valuable about them. Something I’d like to preserve.

Anyway, I think I made new memories today … memories that might be worth preserving for a while … what do you say, Ms X ?
